Even though bones stop growing after you reach a certain age (which is why you reach a maximum height and stay there for the rest of your life), cartilage never stops growing.
As both ears and noses are made of cartilage – that’s why they’re flexible and you can move them around so much – they continue to grow until the day you die. Also, earlobes are continually being stretched by gravity and so they appear to make ears grow even more!
