• Question: Do you think that all cells in your body are equally important?

      Hi Donkey, there are lots of different kinds of cell in the body, but what’s really amazing is really how much of your body (and therefore the cells in it) you can live without. If I were to chop off your arms and legs for example, you would still be able to survive (although with some obvious difficulties). If I were to go for the head however, you would die. So I guess you could say that your brain cells are the most important. There are lots of other important cells though, and you need those that make up your other organs like you heart and lungs just as much. To work properly the body needs all it’s cells to work together, and what’s really interesting is how cells that start off the same can become so different in different parts of the body.
