      Yes they do! Although indirectly. A warmer atmosphere will transmit heat to warm the oceans, though they take a long time to warm up. This is a very important thing to think about, because the oceans can store so much heat, they can have a lot of influence on how warm or cold places are and what their weather is like.

      Carbon dioxide is also being absorbed by the ocean, which is causing it to acidify – not good news for creatures like corals.
