Hello Katie and Ellen!

Wow, what a question! I’ve probably done lots and lots of experiments over the years (100’s of different projects) but I think my favourite one has been testing water quality in mangroves in the Malaysia. Mangroves are beautiful forests by the sea, but in Malaysia they are threatened by developments like prawn farms and gold courses. We had to monitor the water quality to see how effected ours was. It was probably my favourite because it was beautiful but also because we had a hilarious time working together in my team. Mangroves are full of mud, so there wasn’t one of us who didn’t get stuck at some point! And some days it just rained and rained and rained – and rain in the tropics is pretty much being squirted with a hose pipe on full blast! At the end we got to give our results to the local environment group, so that was nice too.
