It can make a lot of people very angry at each other. But one reason I like science is that it’s something everyone can share, regardless of their religion. We can all look at evidence together and discuss ideas and in science and it’s perfectly ok to be wrong and change your mind if that’s what the evidence suggests. A lot of people say science supports their religion (the beauty of the laws of physics look like their Gods plan) and a lot of people in science feel like religion isn’t appropriate for them. But as long as we all follow the scientific method, everyone can work together.

In the past religion and science were one subject… they are both ways of trying to understand the world. They can both be used either to mislead people or allow people to ask questions and make discoveries. They can both be used either to scare and control people or to foster communication and sharing of knowledge. One of the differences is that most scientists would probably accept that we don’t know the answers to everything yet, that is the point of carrying on doing science, but some religions claim that they have access to a higher source of knowledge that can answer all questions. Some people prefer there not to be unanswered questions because that’s scary, so they try and stop other people asking them. Neither religion or science are good or bad in themselves, having an open mind is what affects them both the most.
