People at my work are very friendly and helpful but most of the time I’m working alone in the lab as the equipment I use is only designed for one person to use at a time.
If I’ve ever had a problem though, someone is always around in another lab and willing to lend a hand.

Not always, but then again I think nearly everything you do has an impact on the environment in someway. For example, to learn about things, fix problems in my research and to share my knowledge to help other people solve problems, I often have to travel overseas to conferences. This mostly means spending a long time on a plane! Planes are quite polluting so this is not very environmentally friendly. But we are trying to find ways to minimise these impacts, for example having video conferences over the internet! How cool is it that I can talk to you and answer your questions all the way from South Africa, without having to get on a plane?! 🙂
