Question: is it dangerous to get your tongue web pierced?

I’ve got a friend who got it done and it was fine, but it grew out after a while and it looked a bit manky when it was growing out. Generally piercings can be dangerous because you might get infections but if they’re done by someone who knows what they’re doing and you keep it clean while it heals up then they’re normally fine.
