I guess like every job, it’s sometimes a mixed bag. Life in the lab is sometimes a bit dull, and can be very frustrating, when you’re trying to get an experiment to work for the 20th time! But it’s also genuinely exciting, you’re often doing things that no-one has ever done before, and discovering something (even something very small) that no-one knew before is really cool.

Doing science is a mix between a job and a hobby for me, and most of the time doesn’t feel like work at all. But like everything, it does have it’s moments of pain and despair!
