• Question: My friend has ME and she's tired all the time. Could that be to do with the cells in her body wearing out?

      Hi, ME is a really not at all well understood, and we don’t really have much of a clue as to what causes it. Medically, people with ME don’t really seem to have anything wrong with them (that we know about anyway). Cells wearing out causes things like ageing, and people with ME don’t have any symptoms like old age, they are just constantly tired. It’s much more likely to be due to things like hormonal imbalances, or stress. Sadly though, I’m kind of guessing here as so little is actually known. I hope she gets better though!
