Living in South Africa. I’d have to say HIV/AIDS. It’s responsible for about 50% of the deaths here each year. It affects your immune system which makes you very susceptible to getting sick. The saddest thing is that, although it’s not possible to cure it, it is relatively easy to prevent and treat.
There are lots of preventable diseases that so many people are still dying of around the world. Here in the UK we are very lucky to have basically got rid of all kinds of things that maybe 100 years ago were common like childhood diseases such as Polio. We have the science to save so many more lives
