• Question: What would happen if a virus came that no-one has ever heard of before?

      That would depend on the virus, but it would be bad news for us until we were able to do something about it. This is exactly what happened when HIV was first discovered in the early 80’s, and it took a long time for us to develop any treatments at all. Now, you can live with HIV or AIDS for a long time, so long as you have access to the very expensive drugs, although we still cannot cure it. In Africa however AIDS remains a huge problem and kills millions.
