• Question: when are humans going to die out or develop into a new race?

      Hopefully not too soon in the future! I think if we knew for sure when we were going to die out we’d be trying to do something about it. Another race is potentially possible – although race really is a distinction that people set. Though a person of ‘European’ race may look different to someone of ‘Asian’ or ‘African’ race, we really are for all purposes, genetically identical, as we are all the same species. Races have been defined by lots of different characteristics including religion, language and social grouping. If you mean another species, I think it would take a long time, hundreds of thousands of years for humans to evolve in to separate species. It would also probably mean that people would have to be isolated in some way (like being on an island or something) else the genes would probably never get separated out enough to form a new species.
