  The word earth is actually just one name for our planet – in other languages its called different things – like “terra” but one thing all names have in common is some link to ground/soul! A meteor is a lump of rock that comes from outer space but burns up in the Earths atmosphere before it hits the ground! It comes from the greek word meteoros meaning: “suspended in the air”.
