The problem with cancer is that it is a whole range of different diseases, with different causes. The things which cause breast cancer for example are different from those that cause leukemia, and need different treatment. Vaccinations work by protecting people from infections from things like bacteria and viruses, and most cancers are not caused by these. However in some cancers such as cervical cancer, it is known that this is often caused by a virus and we have just developed a vaccine that works. Women are already being vaccinated!
