      Symmetry – if you look, we have two eyes, two arms, two legs, two lungs, two kidneys etc, as do many other creatures. This symmetrical approach to body structure seems to have been something that came about very early in evolutionary history and has stayed.

      I dont think theres a definite answer to this. Having two nostrils is handy when one of them is blocked. You might notice that at any one time theres always a dominant nostril! They dont work the same all the time.
