I had to go for special training before I did my experiments to make sure I know how to look after animals and to make sure that they do not suffer any pain or lasting harm, if that started to happen I would stop the experiment. In some cases we want to study something inside the fish’s body, if we do that then we anaesthatise the fish so that they don’t feel any pain or stress. The main purpose of my experiments is to get information that will help us minimise the damage humans are causing to the environment and fishy survival!
