      Thankfully no! There’s a lot of fish dissection done at my university though, to understand what they eat and what makes them sick!

      No, I had to go on a course to make sure I was properly trained to handle animals during experiments though so that they don’t suffer any pain, stress or lasting harm. As part of my course we had to be trained in how to pick up rats, rabbits, guinnea pigs and mice. Then I had to do a conversion course to qualify in fish!

      No. We try and use any other things we can to do our experiments rather than animals. I actually use amoeba to study how cells work, because at a fundamental level lots of things about how cells work is the same for everything (all organisms need to grow and divide for example).
